Dairy

Pakistan is the 4th largest milk producer in the world, amongst the lowest in the world considering milk yield per cattle. The country has tremendous potential to increase its milk production, per-capita utilization, & enormous surplus generation for exports.

Agriculture

Pakistan is well-known as an agricultural country & it is a vital sector of its economy, directly supporting three-quarters of the country’s population, employs half the labour force, and contributes a large share of foreign exchange earnings. The main agricultural products are cotton, wheat, rice, sugarcane, fruits, and vegetables.

Livestock

Pakistan livestock counts for 40% of the agricultural sector and 9%of the total GDP. Principal products are milk, beef, mutton, poultry, and wool. Being a country that has a largely rural and agriculture-based industry, livestock plays an imperative role in the economy of Pakistan and is a major source of livelihood for between 30 and 35 million people.

Fisheries

Pakistan’s fishing industry is relatively modest, but has shown strong growth in recent years. The major production comes from marine fisheries from two main areas, the Sindh coast east from Karachi to the Indian border, and the Makran coast of Baluchistan..
